Food safety and labelling in Thailand is regulated by the Food Act B.E. 2522 (1979). The Act requires food additive labels and labels of GMFs to note manufacturing lot for traceability purposes. GMF importers must have a traceability system in place.

In 2020, the Ministry of Commerce introduced TraceThai – a voluntary traceability system that uses blockchain technology to track the supply chain of agricultural products to enhance transparency and consumer confidence. Read more about the system, here.
